Tempo al Vino, Lianto 2023

Tempo al Vino is an offshoot of the Puglian estate Schola Sarmenti in Salento, guided by winemaker Sylvia Formigli. The vineyards sit close to the Adriatic coast, trained in the historic Albarello method and farmed organically on ancient soils. Their focus is on native varieties with minimal intervention and fresh, vibrant expression. 100% Primitivo from Salento; deep ruby in the glass, the nose offers baked summer cherries, wild blackberry and a hint of Mediterranean herbs and pomegranate. On the palate it’s warm and rich yet lithe, showing juicy dark fruit, subtle spice and fine tannins, finishing long with a savoury, slightly rustic edge. A great match for grilled meats, stews or wood-fired pizza.
